Our Business Mentoring Program relies on the many dedicated mentors who generously donate their time and experience .
We are seeking business people to fulfill the role of mentors in the Business Mentoring Program. A mentor should have a minimum of five years experience as a recent or current owner/manager of a successful business.
The Mentor will provide one-on-one mentoring support of at least 10 hours during the Program that runs for up to five months. Meeting times are agreed between the mentor and the participant/mentoree.
The Mentor will assist the participant/mentoree develop strategies to overcome business challenges and pursue business opportunities as well as working with them on the themes addressed in the business skills workshops.
What the mentor does not offer is professional advice or consulting services; or involvement in the day to day management of the mentoree’s business.
Mentors will need to attend a Mentor Briefing Session of two hours that outlines the Program and explains the roles and responsibilities of a mentor. There will also be a two hour session called “Meet Your Mentor” where mentors and participants/mentorees are matched and reach agreement regarding their relationship. Mentors are also encouraged to attend the business skills workshops and networking events of the program.
